Emanuele Cannistraci
Apostle to the Nations

Apostle Emanuele
Cannistraci has long been recognized as a healing evangelist,
revivalist, teacher, local church pastor and prophet to the nations
over his fifty nine years in full-time ministry. Since leaving the
Senior Pastorate of Evangel Christian Fellowship (now GateWay City
Church) in San Jose, California in 2000, Apostle Cannistraci has
moved into the apostolic call that has long been recognized by the
prophets. He turned the Senior Pastorate over to his spiritual son
and nephew, Dr. David Cannistraci. Apostle Cannistraci stays vitally
connected to GateWay City Church as he ministers many times a year
to the church he founded and pastored for over 30 years.
Apostle Cannistraci now travels with
his wife Shirley as they pour their lives into pastors and leaders
worldwide. During his fifty-nine years of ministry to the nations,
Apostle Cannistraci has ministered in over thirty countries. Most
recently, Apostle Cannistraci ministered the Word of the Lord at the
Prophetic World Congress in Guatemala to a hungry crowd of over
12,000 men and women.
Apostle
Cannistraci leads a network of churches and ministers called
Apostolic Missions International (AMI). This is an apostolic
fellowship of spiritual sons and daughters in the faith. He also
gathers Apostles to meet for encouragement, direction and strategy
through an International Apostolic Leadership Summit (IALS) that
meets annually in Hawaii.

A New Move
In the early 1980s, Crossroads knew it was time to move to another
building. Through prayer and fasting, God showed Apostle and Sister
C a new building. At the time, the church was Cathedral of Faith
with Rev. Kenny Foreman. Rev. Foreman needed someone to buy this
building so they could continue building their new church. God
orchestrated the perfect sale of Crossroads into what became Evangel
Christian Fellowship - and it was debt free before moving in.
Although Apostle C was extremely busy, he continued his studies and
received his Bachelor of Theology in 1981 from Christian
International College, and his honorary Doctor of Divinity in 1982
from Pacific Coast Bible College.
From Moffett Field, to coffee houses, to San Jose State University
in the mid 80’s, Bible studies always played a key role at Evangel
in equipping men and women to successfully send them out in the
ministry of God’s choice. GateWay continues these Bible studies in
what is now referred to as J.O.Y. groups; each lead by an assigned
Lay Pastor, teaching on whatever the current move of the Holy Spirit
may be.
In the early 1980s, John Miller, with great excitement, asked
Apostle and Sister C for LaNell’s hand in marriage. While joy for
the couple was evident in the Cannistraci home, Apostle C was filled
with expectation that God would keep them and bring them to a place
of walking in their full inheritance. They are now Pastors of Church
on the Rock in Texarkana, Texas. Praise the Lord!
In 1983 at Family Camp, the prophets agreed that Apostle C, who was
on the radio for 18 years, be on TV. Offerings and pledges were
made. Many people gave from their hearts and in one year, the
cameras, studio and lighting was purchased and "New Beginnings" was
born. God touched thousands of lives through Apostle and Sister C
with the radio and television broadcasts. Many people that are
current members of GateWay were saved on their way to work listening
to the radio.
During the 1980s, the move of the Holy Spirit changed to directly
minister to men and women one on one. Family Camp was disbanded and
annual men’s and women’s retreats began. We have had dynamic
conferences and speakers ever since, where the Holy Spirit moved
mightily and people were healed, delivered, and ministered to. Lives
were changed for the Glory of God.
Apostle C became intern Director of Miracle Mission in San Fernando.
The Cannistraci’s became more and more involved with Miracle Mission
In the Philippines. God sent many members of GateWay to serve as
missionaries at the bible college and orphanage, as well as around
the world to serve faithfully in God’s service., planting churches
and evangelizing in the bario's and mountain villages.
God entrusted Apostle C in teaching the Antioch principle of
equipping men and women, sending them out to the world to preach the
Gospel for God’s glory. Many faithful servants have come through the
Cannistraci ministry. One group in particular is Mobile Ministries
under the direction of Glen and Pat Matthews. They came to GateWay
at a time when God was ready to combine the two.
Sharonrose, now a successful attorney with her own firm,
decided to be married in a country ceremony on the land they were to
build their home on. Apostle C’s first word in the ceremony were,
"Dearly beloved... it’s hot!"
Despite the weather, Apostle and Sister C had a wonderful afternoon,
excited that God had given their first born a loving man. One of the
best scenes at the wedding was when Apostle and Sister C danced to
Anne Murray’s, "Can I Have this Dance for the Rest of My Life?" The
anointed love they share has been passed down to their children and
to their many spiritual sons and daughters. The 1990s were a real
growing time for GateWay, where visions became reality through the
faithfulness of prayers and service: Manna Food Ministry, The Tape
Ministry, Television/Multi-Media Department, Lay Pastors, dynamic
Worship, Realife Teen Outreach, Pastoral care, Women’s Ministries,
S.A.R.A.H., Campus Ministries, IMPACT! School of Ministry, 12-Step
Program, Children’s Department, Ushers, Hospitality, and David’s
Company to name just a few. God put into motion and got the people
ready for the tremendous harvest that has been prophesied to be
released to Apostle C.
In 1995, Evangel released Apostle and Sister C to fulfill the
apostolic ministry that God had given them and changed his title to
Apostle and Mrs. Emanuele Cannistraci. The mantle of pastoral
responsibilities was passed onto his nephew and spiritual son, Rev.
and Mrs. David Cannistraci who has served faithfully in the ministry
for twenty years. Rev. Mel Davis summed it up best, "It has always
been Apostle C’s earnest prayer that the sons and daughters that God
has given him to raise up would be of the Elijah generation, and
that God would deposit twice the anointing and would be able to
accomplish twice as much in their ministries for God’s glory."
